Bishops tour the Cathedral

A party of eight senior church figures from Europe, Africa and Asia - including Archbishop Onaiyekan of Abuja, Nigeria; Archbishop Monsengwo of Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo and Cardinal O'Brien of Edinburgh - recently toured the Cathedral. Their expert guides were Fr Christopher and Fr Tim.

They were in London to visit Downing Street ahead of the forthcoming G8 summit, and were touring Europe to lobby national leaders in London, Berlin and Rome as part of an international Catholic campaign called: “The World Can’t Wait: Make Aid Work”. Their tour concluded with a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican.

Fr Tim worked hard to acquire another new subscriber to Oremus - the Cathedral magazine.

I wonder why the Cardinal and Archbishops wear their pectoral corsses tucked away?
